The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin, Germany, is one of those places I didn’t even know existed until I was there. And that is the beauty of travel.

This photo was taken below the memorial in a very moving museum that further tells the story of what happened during the holocaust. Places such as these can be tough to visit on an otherwise festive vacation or holiday but it is important to pause and reflect on such matters so that we can appreciate what we do have and what we are able to do.

Devils Tower is a unique and fascinating natural landmark located in northeastern Wyoming, near the town of Hulett and about 40 miles from Rapid City, South Dakota. It is a massive igneous rock formation that rises dramatically from the surrounding landscape, standing more than 1,200 feet tall and measuring about 1,300 feet in diameter at its base. The tower is the centerpiece of Devils Tower National Monument, which was established in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is the first national monument in the United States, and it has been a popular destination for hikers, climbers, and nature enthusiasts for more than a century.
