On a recent trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon we hiked the Kaibab Trail down into the canyon. We were told by park rangers that less than 2% of the people who visit the Grand Canyon go below the rim so this trail is a great way to see what few take the time to do.
The biggest downside of the trail for a hiker are the mules. Sure they are historic and have become part of the National Park here but they sure do mess up the trail. Thankful it does not take too long before you are hiking past where the mules stop at Supai Tunnel.
