The Royal Gorge Railroad provides a unique opportunity to take in the beauty of the gorge from the comfort of a train.
The Royal Gorge Railroad offers large windows and an open air car that provide unobstructed views of the stunning cliffs and the river. Along the way, you’ll also have the chance to see wildlife such as deer, eagles, and bighorn sheep.
With a rich history dating back to the 1880s, the Royal Gorge Railroad is a piece of history itself. Originally built as a means of transportation and commerce, the train now serves as a popular tourist attraction.

But is the Royal Gorge Railroad worth it?
We believe taking the train and experiencing the gorge from the bottom is for sure worth but if we did it again we would skip dining on the train. Though it was nice to sit in the dining car the quality of the food just did not match the price. Plus the best place to experience the ride is in the open air cars which are available for all passengers.
